What to Pack
For fashion, Geneva is low key but refined, so simple and stylish is the way to go. Bring outdoor gear aplenty though, including sturdy boats and a rain jacket, the Swiss Alps are just too tempting to ignore.
Geneve is in its infancy, contemporary art galleries like the Centre d’Art Contemporain and Skopia are well worth a visit in the city.
Geneva has numerous unique museums linked to the international organizations based in the city including the Microcosm Museum at CERN and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, containing an exhibition designed by architects Gringo Cardia, Diébédo Francis Kéré and Shigeru Ban.
The city is also host to the largest stage in the country, at the Grand Théâtre de Genève opera house built in 1876. The Geneva Festival of fireworks takes place at the start of August, attracting hundreds of thousands.
